This week co-hosts Vanessa, Jared, and Josh invite comic and Colorado native Amber Tozer to chat about the migration of funny folk from the stage onto digital platforms like Twitter and YouTube. (Coincidentally, Diatribe co-host Joel Warner wrote about this topic for Wired last week from Montreal’s Just for Laughs festival.)
Amber left the Centennial state more than a decade ago for the bright lights of NYC, but after years doing standup on both coasts (including a stint on “Last Comic Standing”), she’s contemplating a return home now that she’s found fame on Twitter (@AmberTozer) and YouTube (watch “Subwancer” below and more videos via her YouTube channel, Gritty Mushrooms).
But can comics really escape the coasts and find success in middle America? We’d like nothing more, so we decided to help the cause by pitching four ideas for television plots based in or on our fair state.
So whaddya say, High Noon? We see some serious potential in “Dr. J. Stoner, MD” and “Last Meal.” Our agents are awaiting your call.
